Additional 27 Coys of CAPFs Deployed in West Bengal

As per the recommendations of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken a crucial step by deploying an additional 27 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in West Bengal. This decision was made to ensure area domination, confidence-building measures, and to maintain peace and order during the upcoming elections. Previously, 150 companies of CAPF were already deployed as part of advanced deployment. Now, with the addition of 27 more companies, a total of 177 companies of CAPF will be deployed in West Bengal.

Importance of Deploying CAPF in West Bengal

The deployment of additional CAPF companies in West Bengal holds great significance in the current political scenario. With tensions running high and the possibility of unrest looming large, it is crucial to have a strong presence of security forces in the state. The CAPF personnel are highly trained and equipped to handle any challenging situation that may arise during the electoral process.

Ensuring Area Domination

One of the primary reasons for deploying CAPF in West Bengal is to ensure area domination. By having a visible presence of security forces in sensitive areas, the authorities can deter any anti-social elements from disrupting the peace. The CAPF personnel will conduct regular patrols and maintain a strict vigil to prevent any untoward incidents.

Confidence-Building Measures

The deployment of CAPF also serves as a confidence-building measure for the citizens of West Bengal. Knowing that there is a strong security apparatus in place, the residents can feel secure and confident in exercising their democratic right to vote. This sense of security is essential for ensuring a free and fair electoral process.

Maintaining Peace and Order

With the deployment of additional CAPF companies, the MHA aims to maintain peace and order in West Bengal. Any attempts at violence or intimidation will be swiftly dealt with by the security forces, ensuring that the electoral process proceeds smoothly without any disruptions. The presence of CAPF instills a sense of discipline and lawfulness among the people.
